Bundoran is set to be all loved up for St Valentine’s Weekend as Discover Bundoran, the organisation which promotes tourism in the seaside resort, announced details of its “Love Bundoran for Valentine’s”

A number of special events will take place across the weekend from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th of February with a country music festival, a single surfers weekend, the opening of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie as well as live music in many of the bars in town.

All music tastes will be catered for across the weekend. The Allingham Arms Valentine’s Weekend Country Music Festival runs from Friday to Sunday including performers Jim Devine, Robert Mizzell, Mike Denver and more. For the rock music fans, Dublin band Red Kid will bring their “Live Rise” Tour to the Chasin Bull on Friday 13th with support from local band Wolves of Youth who will take the same stage themselves on Saturday 14th. There are country music options at the Bird’s Nest Bar also on Saturday and Sunday night with John Molloy (SAT) and Anthony McBrien (SUN).

For the single surfers, Bundoran Surf Co host a “Single Surfers Weekend” whilst Eclipse Cinemas will begin screening the much anticipated “50 Shades of Grey” movie starring Belfast actor Jamie Dornan. Finally if all you want is a romantic stroll then that’s taken care of too with the famous Roguey Walk at your disposal including that all important wish on the Wishing Chair.

Tourism Officer for Bundoran Shane Smyth commented “Bundoran has always been a popular destination for couples and none more-so than on St Valentine’s weekend. There’s quite a range of events happening over the weekend and when you add in all of the activities like surfing, horseriding, bowling, rope climbing and lots more that can be done as well as the wide range of restaurants and pubs to enjoy, it really makes Bundoran the perfect spot this Valentine’s weekend.’
