Bundoran Tidy Towns to host online “Living Sustainably” workshop.
Bundoran Tidy Towns group in association with the ChangeMakers Donegal – Seeds of Change programme will host a free online workshop on Tuesday 16th June from 11am – 1pm and will explore the connections between issues like food production, waste, consumption, climate change, water and sustainability.
Organiser, Gina Witherow of Bundoran Tidy Towns is looking forward to the event “with many people at home due to the current pandemic we thought it was an ideal opportunity to give people information about how they can live more sustainably and to be more environmentally friendly and greener in their own homes. A lot of people have been taking the opportunity of having downtime to do some organising and clearing out of rooms, presses and attics – the workshop will offer tips on recycling and upcycling as well as advice on food waste, water conservation and more.’
The workshop will touch on 4 of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals – Clean Water & Sanitation, Sustainable Cities & Communities, Responsible Consumption & Production and Climate Action.
Facilitator Grainne Uí Dhomhnaill adds ‘Now more than ever, it is important to know how the environment, people and the necessity for work are all connected. We are delighted that Bundoran Tidy Towns has offered to host this free event on Tuesday 16th of June and we look forward to sharing knowledge as well as answering questions that any of the participants may have. I would also like to acknowledge the additional partners in this programme ETB, Irish Aid, Self Help Africa, ChangeMakers and Inishowen Development Partnership.’
The workshop will take place via Zoom online and registration is required in advance. To register for this free event please send an email to tidytownsbun@gmail.com
