November 2016
To the Bundoran community,
Please find the results below of the Tidy Towns competition for Bundoran for 2016.
The Tidy Towns committee is delighted with the results of the competition for this year. We have received 246 points out of a maximum 450 that can be awarded. Some categories were good and others not so good. However we are not disheartened. This gives us a great barometer to our current status and will allow us to make more concrete plan for the future in terms of what areas need to be given more priority and how we are doing in general.
It should be noted that the overall winner of Tidy Towns 2016, Skerries in County Dublin received 327 points out of 450. However when we are at the stage of where we are at the moment, points become more elusive and are not earned easily!
The adjudication took place in mid June, and since then some of the points raised within the report have actually been looked after including some grass cutting so we are already ahead for next year!
That said, there is a lot of work to do and we have a lot of plans. However, we cannot do it all on our own and we are looking for people to join our committee. We are looking for advisors on the various categories, particularly in the Sustainable Waste & Resource Management and Wildlife, Habitats and Natural Amenities categories.
If you are interested in joining Bundoran Tidy Towns or offering some advice on the above, please get in touch with us via our Facebook page www.facebook.com/bundorantidytowns or email tidytownsbun@gmail.com or tidytowns@discoverbundoran.com
We would like to thank those who have been looking after their premises and helping with the Tidy Towns efforts during this year, and remind you that we expect the adjudicators to visit once again during June 2017 so we want to look our best for then!
We look forward to hearing from you.
The Bundoran Tidy Towns group.
