Explosive weekend set for Bundoran Carnival!!
Bundoran is set for an explosive time over the summer carnival weekend (19th/20th July) as a massive fireworks display at the Main Beach will take centre stage on the Saturday night – the first one for many years in the seaside town.
It’s just one of the exciting events being lined up for the Bundoran Summer Carnival weekend hosted by Bundoran Adventure Park in association with Discover Bundoran. A fun, family friendly atmosphere is promised with something for all the family with puppet shows, magic shows, kids circus skills workshops, sandcastle competitions, facepainting, balloon modelling and more.
As part of the weekend celebrations a Street Performer Competition will also take place on Saturday afternoon (19th July) where street acts from all over Ireland are invited to participate in this competition which is all about entertaining the masses on the streets of Bundoran – a prize fund of €1000 sponsored by Bundoran Adventure Park. The highlight of the weekend is sure to be the massive fireworks display which will take place on Main Beach just after sundown (around 10pm) on Saturday 19th July. Sponsored by Discover Bundoran, the display will light up the night sky to an exciting soundtrack – the first display of its kind that the town has seen in many years.
Not to be forgotten on the Sunday is the sandcastle competition which will be held on Main Beach. Nemo the Magician will be performing his magic at Bundoran Adventure Park with lots of kids activites as well, including face painting. Focus for the afternoon will then shift to Bundoran Retail Park where the Fringe Festival will take place including a craft fair, artisan food, street performers and more.
Speaking about the carnival, Michelle Wilmot of Bundoran Adventure Park said ‘we are looking forward to creating a real carnival atmosphere in Bundoran on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of July. There’s going to be so many exciting things for kids and families to do right across the weekend like workshops, puppet shows, street performers and lots more. It’s going to be great two days!”
