Bundoran surfers to represent at Eurosurf Junior.
Bundoran Board Riders Neil McCarthy (Under 18 Bodyboard) and Eoin Lally (Under 16 Surf) will shortly head to Santa Cruz in Portugal with the rest of Team Ireland under the guidance of team manager Shauna Ward also from Bundoran.
The Eurosurf Junior competition takes place every two years and the two local boardriders are no strangers to competing having travelled to Morocco in 2016 to take part in the event there.
To be part of Team Ireland, they must be successful in national selection events – both won their respective events in Strandhill in the Alder Co Sligo Junior Surfing Championships which were held recently. The team as a whole also completed a three day training camp in preparation for the event.
The surf capital of Europe will be Santa Cruz in Portugal from July 20th to 29th and we wish our Bundoran Boardriders and the rest of Team Ireland the best of luck in the competition!
