Amusements & Indoor Dining from July 5th
In an address to the nation on Friday afternoon (28th May) Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD announced that indoor dining for both restaurants and pubs would be permitted from Monday July 5th.
The go-ahead was given for all accommodation to reopen as planned from this Wednesday 2nd June with outdoor dining permitted to resume from Bank Holiday Monday June 7th. Cinemas are also permitted to open from June 7th with Eclipse Cinemas in Bundoran putting the finishing touches to their reopening plans and movie schedule this week.
Amusement arcades were given the go-ahead to reopen on Monday 5th July on the same day that indoor dining will recommence, bringing a sense of normality back to our lives again. Other attractions in Bundoran will announce their reopening dates soon.
The Government website gov.ie revealed ‘The decision is based on advice from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET), that a cautious and phased reopening continues, with a continuing emphasis on outdoor activity, and sufficient time between phases to assess the impact and ensure that progress in controlling the virus is maintained. In July, Ireland will start operating the EU Digital COVID Certificate for travel within the EU and EEA, subject to health advice. There will be no restrictions on travel to or from Northern Ireland. Indoor service can resume in bars and restaurants, indoor group training can start, and household visits will be increased to three households. There will be further increases at weddings and outdoor events.’
In the meantime Bundoran looks forward to welcoming back all of its friends. Tourism Officer Shane Smyth added ‘the releasing of solid dates is welcomed by all of our trade partners here in town so that the real plans can commence, stock can be ordered and we can be ready to see everyone again.
