Bundoran 10 registrations open for 2024
Registrations for the popular Bundoran 10 run and walk have opened for next year’s event which will take place on Saturday 2nd March 2024 with the 5k event happening on the previous evening (Friday 1st March).
The main event will comprise the traditional 10 mile run as well as a 10 mile walk which will bring participants from Bundoran, into county Leitrim and back to Bundoran to finish at the seaside town’s Main Beach.
Race director Canice Nicholas said ‘we are delighted to be running the event again next year. As it’s at the start of the race year, many people use it as a marker for their progress for other events like mini or full marathons later in the year. It’s probably the most scenic route in the country taking in two counties and finishing along the stunning Rougey Walk and down to the Main Beach.’
The 2023 event resulted in over €16,000 in donations to local charities and community groups including Bundoran RNLI, North West Hospice and Tir Chonaill Athletic Club. The 2024 event will be no different with funds raised going once again to local charities and community groups.
Bundoran Tourism Officer and Bundoran 10 committee member Shane Smyth added ‘this is a massive event for the town even before the season begins and provides a great boost for accommodation providers and restaurants/cafes at an early point in the year. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next March!’
The events are as follows:
Friday 1st March 2024 – 7:30pm – 5km run
Saturday 2nd March 2024 – 10:00am – 10 mile walk
Saturday 2nd March 2024 – 11:00am – 10 mile run
