€2,700 presented to Bundoran charities and community groups

Donations were made on Thursday (14th December) to 7 charities and community groups as a result of proceeds to the annual Vintage & Classic Car Show which took place on July 16th in Bundoran.

The beneficiary groups were Bundoran Community Centre, Bundoran RNLI, Donegal Bay Community First Responders, Ozanam House, Bundoran Tidy Towns, Temple Street Children’s Hospital and St Vincent de Paul.

Speaking at the presentations, which took place in Bundoran Community Centre, event director for the Vintage & Classic Car Show Donal McGettigan thanked all of those who had assisted with the staging and promotion of the event in July. These included Bundoran Tourism Officer Shane Smyth, Cllr Michael McMahon, the Donegal Vintage & Classic Car Club, the Allingham Arms, Donegal County Council, An Garda Siochana and BMG Hardware.

He added that he would be retiring from the club in February 2024 and will not be involved in the show going forward.

Also speaking at the presentations, Cllr Michael McMahon thanked Donal McGettigan for his years of involvement in staging the show on behalf of the Donegal Vintage & Classic Car Club adding that it was a great annual event for the town and wished him well for the future.

Each of the nominated charities and community groups received €400 each while St Vincent De Paul received €300.
