There were SMILES SMILES SMILES everywhere in town over the week-end as Bundoran Summer Carnival brought with it COMMUNITY SPIRIT & LEARNING WITH SMILES A large number of Local, Visiting and International Youth were in Carnival Parade from 4yrs upward . Over 150 adults / youth took part in Carnival Workshops. CARNIVAL ART FACILITATORS offered Prop making with Vikki Climo, Flash Mob workshops with Arancha & Grainne ID Lang. School, Community Drumming with Eamon Carrick Galway, Geraldine Daly & Maria Loughlin Carnival Face painters, offering training to others, Maura Logue offered a number of workshops on Creative Play & Performance, Skaters with mentors Tomas Epic B&B.Bundoran, Jenny Cooper guiding USB Samba Band with guest Poi Performer Tara Cannon and hosting The Hermit Collective with New Writing, Music and a Pop-Up Stunning Group Art Exhibition.
Creative Director for the Bundoran Summer Carnival Maura Logue said ‘Thank you to all attendees be you Visiting Holiday Folk, local Families, visiting cousins, International Students and their coordinators for embracing the joy of Carnival Build Up. Without Dark Daughter’s stalwart and skilled Creative Team -Vikki Climo, Geraldine Daly & Maria Loughlin, Aranxta Lopez on Flash Mob, all working in advance and during the weekend of Summer Carnival build -Up & Carnival Parade, the parade would not be have been easeful. Thank you to Cllr Michael Mc Mahon for being with us on Main St.
A most sincere thanks to the man who brought the circus to town and funded the event under Discover Bundoran, Shane Smyth Tourism Officer,and to Michelle Ratcliffe Wilmot & Family at Bundoran Adventure Park, for the vital sponsorship that brought artists to town and both parties for sharing a vision with Dark Daughter Productions – to offer a Fun Family Friendly Carnival Weekend, offering an animated interactive engaging energy, whilst honouring Creative Arts & Carnival Street Performance in a Community Art context.
