1 – Race a Soapbox
The 5th annual Bundoran RNLI Soapbox Race takes place on Bank Holiday Sunday 5th June on Astoria Road at 1pm. Entry is open to all and competition is expected to be fierce! 2 – Rock out at the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival
The Rory Gallagher Festival pays homage to the man born on “The Rock” in Ballyshannon every year and thousands of visitors are expected to Ireland’s Oldest Town! 3 – Dance the weekend away to Ireland’s top country music acts
If rock music isn’t your thing, then maybe country music is! The IMRO Ulster Live Music Venue of the Year and Ireland’s Best Country Music Venue, The Allingham Arms has got you covered. You may have seen the team recently on “Keepin’ Her Country” on BBC2. 5 – Take a dip at the Blue Flag Main Beach
A visit to Bundoran isn’t complete without a trip to the beach which has just been awarded the Blue Flag for the 29th year in a row and with our lifeguard team on duty from the start of June, you’ll be in safe hands. Just make sure to obey their instructions and swim between the designated markers. When the flag flies red over yellow it means that lifeguards are on duty and it’s safe to swim!
6 – Celebrate Waterworld’s 25th Birthday!
Believe it or not, Waterworld is 25 years old this year. It first opened its doors on June 3rd 1991 and since then has welcomed around 1.5 million visitors to Ireland’s Premier Indoor Aqua Adventure Playground! On Saturday 4th June it’s charity day and 4 local charities will benefit from takings on the day – so the more people in, the more money they make! People come from far and wide to take in the beauty of this walk with breathtaking views over Donegal Bay and views to Slieve League and Mullaghmore Head.
