Pumpkin Carving and Parade 2018

A record crowd turned out for the annual pumpkin carving competition and pumpkin parade in Bundoran on Halloween afternoon with a mixture of locals and visitors enjoying the event which was held in the Atlantic Apartotel. The event, now in its 6th year, saw families and groups come together to carve pumpkins and be creative and spend some time together before taking part in the annual parade which went down the Main Street as far as Bundoran Community Library where prizes, donated by local businesses, were handed out to lucky recipients.

Tourism Officer Shane Smyth who started the event 6 years ago was delighted with the turnout saying “it’s another great family friendly event for the town and we are happy to have seen it grow to this.  We are grateful for the support of locals and visitors each year who come to carve their pumpkins and take part in the parade. I would also like to acknowledge the team who work hard to put the event together each year – namely Maura Logue of Dark Daughter Productions, Geraldine Daly, Elodie, Mateo, Ben, Chloe, Daniel McCann, Suzanne Byrne, Patsy O’Kane, Michael McMahon, John O’Connell, Meg Rybicki, Donegal County Council and a special word of thanks to An Garda Siochana who assisted with traffic management during the parade.
Thanks to those local businesses who donated prizes including Eclipse Cinemas, Campview Farm., Castle Adventure Open Farm, The Galley and Supervalu.
