“Welcome Back” theme for St Patrick’s Day parade

The Bundoran St Patrick’s Day parade committee has announced that the theme for this year’s parade is to be “Welcome Back” or “Fáilte Ar Ais”.

The committee confirmed recently that the parade would return this year on March 17th for the first time since 2019.

Speaking about the theme announcement Parade Director John O’Connell said ‘it’s been a long time since we’ve been able to have such a volume of people in the town and we thought that the “Welcome Back” or “Fáilte Ar Ais” theme was more than appropriate as we open our doors and welcome our old friends as well as some new guests back to Bundoran to experience our legendary hospitality and welcome this St Patrick’s Day. While it’s not mandatory, we would encourage local businesses, community groups and organisations who are intending to take part in the parade to reflect the “welcome back” theme in their float and as usual we will have prizes for the top floats on the day.”

Bundoran Tourism Officer Shane Smyth added ‘we’ve had great interest from local businesses and groups wishing to take part in this year’s parade and we are also looking forward to welcoming guests from some of our Douzelage partner towns across Europe who will be here to experience our national holiday. We would encourage anyone who wishes to take part in the parade to fill out the quick form at www.discoverbundoran.com/parade which will assist us in the planning.’

More details, as well as a comprehensive St Patrick’s weekend event guide will be published at www.discoverbundoran.com/stpatricksday in the coming weeks.
