Further to the government’s recent announcement and easing of restrictions, country wide travel is open from today, Monday 10th May 2021. This means that anyone can travel to Bundoran from anywhere in the country, however bearing in mind that accommodation is not permitted to open until June 2nd.
Owners of holiday homes may visit their properties as can mobile home owners with the government guidance on this reading as follows:
“You can also travel between counties in Ireland to your stationary mobile home or caravan. This is only allowed if you are the owner of the mobile home or caravan. Rental of accommodation services remains prohibited until 2 June (subject to the public health situation at that time). Mobile home and caravan parks may open to facilitate owners accessing their stationary mobile homes or caravans. However, no tourism activities (for example: rental of mobile homes or pitches) are permitted and no shared facilities should be opened.”
Non essential retail can open today (May 10th) for click and collect with all retail permitted to reopen on May 17th.
Many of Bundoran’s restaurants and cafes are operating a takeaway service at this time and will continue to do so over the coming weeks
From 2nd June, accommodation services including hotels, B&Bs, self-catering and hostels can reopen. Services including leisure facilities, indoor restaurant and bar services must be restricted to overnight guests/residents only.
From 7th June, outdoor services in restaurants and bars can recommence with groups limited to a maximum of 6 people.
We await further announcements on the reopening of tourism attractions and we hope to get clarity on these soon.
We also await further announcements on the reopening of indoor hospitality including restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos however no such decisions are expected to be made before the end of June.
The full reopening guide can be found on the Government of Ireland website.
