2023 Buy Donegal campaign underway

The 2023 Buy Donegal campaign got officially underway on Monday with a launch event at the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny. #BuyDonegal was officially launched by Cllr Martin Harley, Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, who said that ‘BuyDonegal serves as a platform for businesses to amplify their presence and reach, enabling them to connect with a wider customer base. By participating in this initiative, businesses can leverage the collective strength of the #BuyDonegal Brand, gaining increased visibility and recognition’.

Garry Martin, Director of Economic Development also addressed the audience to highlight the importance of importance of the #buydonegal campaign.

‘The #BuyDonegal campaign promotes the unique offerings and exceptional quality that our region has to offer. From traditional crafts to innovative products and services, Donegal is a treasure trove of talent and creativity. By embracing this campaign, we showcase the rich cultural heritage and vibrant entrepreneurial spirit that defines our community’.

The #BuyDonegal launch featured an array of engaging activities and informative talks, providing attendees with valuable insights and inspiration. The role of Master of Ceremonies was expertly fulfilled by Sally Murphy, renowned for her exceptional storytelling skills at Welltold.ie.

Among the distinguished speakers were Emma Boyan, the visionary mind behind Outside the Box, who shared her expertise on innovative business strategies. Steven Perry, a representative of the Donegal Local Enterprise Office presented valuable insights and resources available to local entrepreneurs.

One of the highlights of the event was the captivating panel discussion, moderated by Sally Murphy. The panel consisted of accomplished individuals such as Seamus McDaid from Football Special, Orla O’Hagan of Orla Vera Accessories and Emma Boylan of Outside the Box. The panellists shared their experiences, challenges and successes, providing invaluable inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs in attendance.
