Sea Sessions Cancelled for 2020
The annual Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival due to be held in June has been cancelled by the organisers. The festival is the latest in a number of high profile events to be cancelled due to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.
In a statement released yesterday (Tuesday 21st April 2020), organisers said:
Following the Government Of Ireland directive to ban all mass gatherings unfortunately we can confirm that SEA SESSIONS will not take place in 2020.
In the face of the Covid-19 crisis we fully agree with the decision and want to take the opportunity to thank those front-line workers currently giving their all to keep us safe.
We will be in touch directly over the coming days with further information and you will be contacted directly by Ticketmaster. Please do not contact Ticketmaster within the next 10 working days. Keep an eye on our website & social media for further updates. Please be patient with us as while we get this information to you in these unprecedented times.
Look after each other and stay safe
Sea Sessions Crew
Bundoran Tourism Officer Shane Smyth said ‘we are gutted for the Sea Sessions team who put such a huge, year round effort into the organisation of the festival. We know how devastated they will be to have to cancel the event but we also know that they are committed to playing their part in helping to curb the spread of the virus. We are confident that they will bounce back better than ever for 2021.’
As the pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the globe, Bundoran is still discouraging people from visiting the town until such a time that it is safe to do so. Visitors can follow updates via the dedicated live blog, which is being updated as new information comes to hand, on the Discover Bundoran website here.
